Synopsis

Ted Winters, a star football player who is unable to raise enough money to enroll in the San Diego Army and Navy Academy, gets a job in the academy kitchen washing dishes. Ted soon proves his skill on the gridiron, and Colonel Davis, the commandant, arranges for Ted to become a cadet. Ted falls in love with Betty Phillips, the commandant's niece, and thereby incurs the wrath of Cadet-Major Snodgrass, who discredits the innocent Ted in a prearranged scandal at a roadhouse. Ted is barred from the big game, and the team seems headed for certain defeat. Betty, however, convinces her uncle of Ted's good character; and he is sent into the game, leads the team to victory, wins Betty's love, and has the pleasure of seeing Snodgrass expelled.
