Synopsis
Bernice Burke accidentally kills Del Livingston when he becomes too friendly in a parked car. Louise Burke, Bernice's stepmother, assumes the blame for the shooting and is sentenced to 10 years in jail. She begins to serve her time, but Bernice, who has always resented Louise for marrying her father, has a change of heart and confesses her own guilt. Bernice is placed on probation and at last comes to love Louise as much as she loved her own mother.
