Synopsis
The motherless child of a bank clerk is adopted by the Melfords, a wealthy couple, who rear him as their son. Years pass. Jack, a young man, takes the blame for a bank theft committed by Melford, whom he believes to be his father. Melford dies; Jack goes to jail and after several years is released. Jack discovers that Austin is his real father, and eventually they are reunited.
