Synopsis
Howard Fiske must watch impotently as his sweetheart, June Paige, is forced by her scheming family into marriage with a millionaire whom she does not love. Howard is in debt to Bracken, an old acquaintance who hounds him for money, forcing him to blackmail June for $10,000 by threatening to show her old, undated love letters to the millionaire. Bracken sends June to Howard's house by promising her the letters on payment of the money. Before she arrives, Howard picks up a volume of Boccaccio and reads "The Falcon," which recounts the tale of a selfless lover who sacrifices his dearest possession to satisfy the desire of his lady love. As Howard finishes the story, June appears and asks for the letters. Howard quickly realizes that she has been sent by Bracken and seeks to relieve her fear of exposure by throwing the letters in the fire. June realizes the true depth of Howard's love and gives herself to him, saying with the girl in "The Falcon": "You have always possessed me with your love."
