Synopsis

Edith Osborne, neglected by her husband Herbert, spends the night with Howard Stratton, her husband's business rival. When her brother, Robert Wayne, discovers that Stratton is using Edith's love letters to blackmail her, he decides to steal the letters and, in the process, fatally shoots Stratton. Robert is sent to prison, but with the outbreak of World War I, he convinces the parole board to allow him to fight with the Allies in France. His heroic deeds on the battlefield arouse the affections of the parole board head's niece, Mary Fenton, and she accepts his marriage proposal. Edith confesses her story to the authorities, clearing her brother's name, and then effects a reconciliation with her husband.
