Synopsis

One night Vivien goes for a ride with McGregor, her sister-in-law Alicia's sweetheart. When the car overturns, the couple spends the night at a roadhouse, where Bolles, McGregor's drug-addicted half brother who also loves Alicia, happens to be staying. Lucid enough to see his opportunity, Bolles threatens to turn Vivien and McGregor's forced stopover at the roadhouse into a midnight rendezvous and tell the whole thing to Pierce, Vivien's husband, unless he is given sole courting rights to Alicia. To protect Vivien, McGregor agrees, and Bolles confidently pursues Alicia. One night, however, a drug-crazed Bolles shoots Alicia and then kills himself. McGregor nurses Alicia back to health, after which they decide to get married. As a result, Pierce, who had become suspicious of Vivien and McGregor even without Bolles' help, realizes that his wife is innocent of any wrong-doing.
