Synopsis

Against her own instincts, Edith Emerson, newly married to businessman Frank Emerson, follows her mother's advice and treats her husband severely, laying down a strict set of rules to which he must adhere. Frank becomes infatuated with fashionable model Delia Marshall, who lavishes on him all the attentions that he is denied at home. After her father, Jonathan Rhodes, dies, Edith discovers that he had kept a mistress for years: her mother's marriage, despite her claims to the contrary, had been a dismal failure. Although Delia refuses Edith's earnest request that she give up Frank, the young wife ultimately wins her husband back by showering him with affection and creating a loving and comfortable home.
