Synopsis

During a masked ball, Rosario Aguilar becomes attracted to a likable young man who sings very well, but just before the time to remove the disguises, the young man suddenly leaves the hall and Rosario is left not knowing his identity. With the sudden death of Señor de Acuña, an old friend of the Aguilars', his son Carlos discovers to his surprise that his inheritance consists only of debts. He decides to take advantage of his singing ability to make a living in nightclubs. Acclaimed by the most distinguished audiences in Buenos Aires, Carlos cannot forget that evening which had such a sad ending, nor the mysterious masked lady with whose eyes he fell in love. When someone in the club tells Carlos that a certain Esteban Marquez is ruining Señor Aguilar by cheating him at gambling and is seeking to marry his daughter, Carlos has a hunch, attends the engagement party and realizes that Rosario is the woman he is seeking. Encouraged by the discovery, Carlos openly challenges Márquez, confronts him with a witness and forces him to return the stolen money. Aguilar recognizes the son of his old friend, and he is happy that Rosario has reunited the two families.
