Synopsis

Jim Murison, an English army officer and a man of ancient lineage, marries Cleo, a woman of startling beauty and no scruples who uses her charms to secure luxuries that her husband, a poor man, cannot provide. When her husband is called to war, Cleo starts out on her conquest of men. Her first victim is Cedric Constable, Murison's young cousin. After Cedric enlists, Cleo attempts to entrap art connoisseur and German secret agent Carlos Costa, but instead becomes his slave. Costa intercepts a letter from Murison to Cleo which contains top secret information and sends it to the German authorities. However, the leak is discovered and Murison is assigned to investigate. His clue leads him to Costa's house where he finds his wife in the arms of the spy. The unmasking brings about Cleo's death and the capture of the spy, and leaves Murison a broken man.
