Synopsis

In eighteenth century France, courtier Philip de Mornay falls in love with Daphne La Tour, a nobleman's daughter. He carries her off and hides her in Fanchette's bordello and then is captured by pirates himself. Later, soldiers looking for wives to bring to a Louisiana settlement raid Fanchette's and take Daphne against her will. At sea, the soldiers encounter pirates and defeat them in battle largely because of Daphne's cool-headedness. The ship's captain asks her to name her reward and, seeing that Philip has been taken captive from the pirate ship and is about to walk the plank, she asks for his freedom so that the two of them can be married.
