Synopsis

Louise Greyling runs away from her straight-laced aunt to live with her Uncle Abe in a New England fishing village. Cap'n Abe, a storekeeper scorned by the townspeople because he has never been to sea, tells stories about his brother Am'zon every night to gain the respect of the locals. When Louise learns that the stories and the brother are fictional, she convinces Cap'n Abe to leave town for a while and return as Am'zon. The disguise is a success until a group of shipwrecked East Indians, incorrectly identifying "Am'zon" as the pirate who desecrated their temple, try to kill the storekeeper. With the help of Lawford Tapp, with whom she is in love, Louise succeeds in saving her uncle.
