Synopsis

Early in the sixteenth century a young Spanish boy is washed ashore along the coast of Mexico. The natives, called Tehuans, have never seen a white man and so they raise the stranger, whom they name Chiapa, as a god. Years later, hearing about Chiapa and the extent to which his tribe has prospered since he joined it, the Aztecs plan a raid on the Tehuans. During the fighting, the Aztecs capture Chiapa, and Montezuma's daughter Lolomi promptly falls in love with him. When Montezuma sentences Chiapa to death despite his daughter's protests, Lolomi sends word to the Tehuans imploring them to attack her tribe. In the end, the Tehuan army sweeps through the Aztec city and rescues their god.
