Synopsis

Philander Jepson, an accountant who, with the aid of rabbits' feet and horse shoes, is a very lucky gambler, embarks upon a two week vacation at a summer resort where he meets Brunhilda and falls in love. Upon his return to the city, Philander's luck changes when he walks under a ladder. First, Brunhilda's parents learn of his gambling and he is forbidden in their home, then he goes broke in a poker game and loses his job. Down and out, he renounces gambling forever, pitches his horse shoes and rabbits' feet out the window and secures a job at ten dollars a week. In the course of time, he becomes successful, is reconciled with Brunhilda and feels very lucky that good sense came to him as soon as it did.
