Synopsis
Since the death of their parents, Norma Bennett has assumed the responsibility for looking after her younger sister, Janet. Political boss John Hurd marries Janet on the sly and then deserts her. Never telling Norma her husband's name, Janet dies while giving birth to a baby, and Norma takes a vow to make all men suffer for her sister's death. Norma becomes the toast of New York nightclubs; men pay heavily and receive only a mocking smile in return. Norma opens The Janet Bennett Home for Girls and falls in love with Doctor Phil, a fine young fellow whom she adamantly refuses to marry. Norma learns that Hurd was Janet's husband and sets out to kill him. She is forestalled, however, when Hurd is shot to death by the brother of one of his many victims. Putting aside her vengeance, Norma is finally free to find happiness with Doctor Phil.
