Synopsis
Bob Kingston and Frank Carson are partners with Jimmie Manning in a mining operation that has made them all rich; both Bob and Frank are also in love with Jimmie's sister, Mary. Jimmie, who is a weakling and a drunk, sneaks into town and starts on a binge. Bob goes after him and is forced to knock him cold in order to quiet him. Bob takes the inert Jimmie back to a hotel room, where, the next morning, Jimmie is found dead. Bob is blamed for the crime and almost lynched by a hysterical mob; the sheriff, however, manages to get him into the comparative safety of the jail. Frank, despite his past friendship for Bob, again incites the mob to violence; for it is he who killed Jimmie, after the boy discovered that he had been having an affair with a Mexican whore. Bob is moved to the state penitentiary for his own safety, and the Mexican woman tells Mary of Bob's innocence. Bob is freed and goes after Frank, bringing him to justice after a savage fight. Bob marries Mary.
