Synopsis

Because her mother died in childbirth, Diane Summers fears motherhood. She agrees to marry her sweetheart Bruce Gordon with the stipulation that their marriage never be consummated. Dissatisfied with the arrangement, however, Diane's husband leaves her. Alone, she becomes envious of the pleasure that other women derive from their children and soon has a change of heart. On a journey to visit her husband, Diane's train is derailed, and she is rescued by Philip Darnton. Bruce reads of the wreck and finds Diane in time to rescue her from Darnton's advances. Reunited, Diane and Bruce embark upon a new life together, which will include a family.
