Synopsis

To celebrate the sale of his masterpiece "The Empress," DeBaudry takes his beautiful young model Nedra to the country for a vacation. The proprietor of the inn where they are staying indulges in blackmail and succeeds in taking their picture while they are engaged in an amorous pose. That night, DeBaudry forces his way into Nedra's room, and she seeks refuge with the innkeeper's daughter after realizing DeBaudry's dishonorable intentions. Later, when Nedra is happily married to Eric, the innkeeper reappears and demands money for his photograph. When Eric refuses to believe his wife's innocence, Nedra, desperate, is about to commit suicide when the innkeeper's daughter comes forth and attests to the model's virtue.
