Synopsis

When James Calvert visits a tract of land with young lawyer Page Emlyn, he is mysteriously pushed off a cliff to his death. An old woman, who witnessed the incident, accuses Emlyn of killing Calvert, but Emlyn, who was drunk, does not recall anything. Emlyn is sent to jail to await trial. Meanwhile he has fallen in love with Hester Rymal, Calvert's ex-sweetheart, who thinks Calvert committed suicide because of unrequited love. Eventually the old woman admits that her halfwitted son killed Calvert. The youngsters are free to find their happiness.
