Synopsis

Roderick Drew, a wolf-hunter, discovers a birchbark map loosely gripped in the white fingers of a skeleton. Shortly thereafter, Roderick is almost killed by a golden bullet; he is then endangered by an unexpected avalanche. Roderick is preparing to see where the map leads when it is stolen by Hairy Grimes, a crook who has discovered the map's existence from Roderick's sweetheart, Minnetake. Minnetake tries to warn Roderick and is abducted by Grimes. Roderick learns of Minnetake's danger and goes after Grimes, defeating him and his gang with the help of an unknown ally. This ally turns out to be Minnetake's grandfather, and Roderick wins both the girl and her grateful grandfather's gold.
