Synopsis

Years after having gone straight, former criminals John Remington and his wife Grace are respected, affluent members of their community. Then, Jimmy Briggs, a former member of their gang, finds John and threatens to tell the police about Grace's past if he refuses to help him pull one more heist. Without telling his wife, John agrees, and the date is set for an evening when Grace will be staying at Mrs. Van Dyke's house, which turns out to be the one that Jimmy and John have decided to rob. Grace hears them sneak inside, and when she starts fighting with Jimmy, John knocks him out. Jimmy escapes after Grace tells Mrs. Van Dyke that it was he alone who tried to rob her, but later, in a shoot-out, John kills him before he can tell anyone about Grace's past.
