Synopsis

During the World War, Emilia, a Spanish girl of good family, dances in a Paris cafe in order to provide small luxuries for her brothers, who are fighting for the Allied cause. After the Armistice, Emilia returns to her home on the island of Majorca, taking up her old life. Jerome, an English officer who knew Emilia during the war, comes to Majorca and renews his acquaintance with her. Ewing, a crooked thespian, persuades Emilia that she cannot marry Jerome because of her high social station, and she takes a job dancing in a low dive in order to discourage the romantic Englishman. Ewing abducts Emilia, and Jerome rescues her, wounding Ewing. Jerome and Emilia are married.
