Synopsis

Discovering that Dick Wakefield, with whom she has been carrying on a flirtation, is married, Dora Sinclair becomes engaged to Frank Farrell, a rising young attorney. Wakefield refuses to return her love letters, and his wife walks out on him. While sleepwalking one evening, Dora enters the Wakefield home in an unsuccessful and unconscious effort to retrieve the letters. The following morning Wakefield is found murdered, and Joan is accused of the crime. Farrell undertakes her defense and calls Dr. Bourget to the stand. Bourget hypnotizes her, and she recalls the events of the night of the crime, revealing that she had seen José Sarmento, an insanely jealous South American, kill Wakefield for flirting with Señora Sarmento. Dora is freed, and she and Dick marry.
