Synopsis
Mrs. Cluney, an unreasonable and imperious young woman who is ever finding fault with her patient and indulgent husband, leaves home after a quarrel with their twins. Cluney's aunt and uncle, who have not met his wife, turn up unexpectedly, and as the uncle has promised Cluney his fortune on the condition that he is happily married, the husband's friend Mr. Fixit calls on their devoted maid, Sisseretta, to act as Cluney's wife. Then Mrs. Cluney returns with her set of twins, and in order to carry on the deception is forced to act the part of nurse. At bedtime, Cluney and Sis are forced into a compromising situation, and the latter's fiancé, the chauffeur, threatens to shoot both of them. When the aunt and uncle depart, everything is satisfactorily resolved.
