Synopsis

Maybelle Strong and her twin brother Joe, separated as children, grow up to lead dramatically different lives, as the former works as a teacher in a small village, while the latter, now called "Red Hand," belongs to a gang of big city criminals. Sid Aldrich, a member of Joe's gang, goes to the village, and hoping to sell Maybelle as a white slave, he convinces her to return with him and then heavily drugs her. Joe, however, see the same red birthmark on Maybelle's hand that he has on his, and so realizes that Sid's victim is his own long-lost twin. As a result, he kills Sid, after which he takes Maybelle to Doctor Burton for treatment and then, vowing to go straight, moves out West with Mame, his tubercular sweetheart. Meanwhile, Maybelle and Doctor Burton fall in love and begin making plans for their wedding.
