Synopsis

The "Custard Cup," a tenement neighborhood, is the home of Mrs. Penfield, an elderly widow who is mother to three adopted children, and of counterfeiters Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bosley. During a boat excursion hosted by an alderman, a fire results from Bosley's efforts to destroy the counterfeit money in his pocket. Mrs. Penfield and the children are rescued, but she is accused of passing phony bills. A detective proves her to be an unwitting dupe, and the Bosleys are apprehended.
