While at work in the plant, Marie is approached by Verrinder, a German spy, who attempts to enlist her in his plot to sabotage the operations. According to news items, Rupert Hughes worked with Anthony Paul Kelly on the adaptation of the film. One news item credits Eve Unsell with work on the adaptation. Rex Beach was the president and Samuel Goldwyn was the chairman of the board of directors of the company. The film was made at the Goldwyn studios in Culver City, CA. It had its premiere in Los Angeles in January 1920.
