Synopsis

Sherry Mason, the wastrel son of wealthy and indulgent parents, almost takes a turn toward reformation when he meets Nadia Meredith, a bookseller's daughter, but she refuses his marriage proposal because of a hint of evil she senses in his face. Sherry goes to Paris with his father's no-good partner, Henri Camion, and gets involved in a cafe fight with an apache, La Chante, who kills his girl friend, Babette. La Chante and Sherry each seek the skill of plastic surgeon Ralph Neyas, who alters La Chante's face (to protect him from the police) and undertakes to remold Sherry's character. The scene abruptly shifts to the American West, where Nadia is hurled into a mine shaft by an explosion set off by Camion. La Chante sacrifices his life to save Nadia, who finds happiness with Sherry.
