Synopsis

As a child, Helen Mathews is selfish, and her sister, Mary, gives up everything for her; later, when Helen steals Mary's sweetheart, Mary leaves home to become a chorus girl in New York, and soon she achieves stardom. Philip Pierce, a young millionaire, is attracted to her, but, preferring the simple life, Mary declines his invitation--to the amusement of the other chorus girls. In order to avoid a wild party, however, she allows him to take her home, and she soon falls in love with him. She accepts his proposal but is heartbroken to discover that he is betrothed to a society girl. Later, however, Philip explains that he is not in love with his fiancée and breaks the engagement, reassuring Mary of his love for her.
