Synopsis

Dorinda, a wealthy flapper who scorns married life, becomes associated with a fast-moving group, the "Black Butterflies." Threatened with scandal, Dorinda chooses David Goddard, a struggling young law clerk, to marry her for $5,000 a year. After the wedding Goddard chafes under his false position, and they quarrel continuously when alone. Goddard's attempts to win her away from her companions fail. Dorinda is responsible for an automobile accident resulting in temporary blindness for Goddard and serious injuries for the other passengers; this catastrophe jars Dorinda to her senses. She quits the "Black Butterflies" and becomes David's earnest wife.
