Synopsis
Included in this film on Swedish manners and mores are scenes showing what the narration calls an "anything goes" attitude toward sex: contraceptive devices are readily available to girls of 15 and over; pornographic photo studios permit patrons to give the models posing instructions; access is easy to wife-swapping and lesbian clubs; and students further their sex education on chartered boats that sail around Stockholm harbor. Also depicted are the problems the Swedes have with alcoholism, drug addiction, a housing shortage that has led to communal living, the isolation of the very old, and hoodlum motorcycle gangs. The more favorable aspects of Swedish society depicted include the minimum of red tape encountered in adopting a child, the widespread abhorrence of violence, the love for the sauna, and the traditional festivities of Walpurgis Night.
