Synopsis

Ken, the assistant searchlight operator on the Albany night boat, rescues Georgie from drowning after she jumps overboard from a yacht to avoid a lecherous yachtsman. Ken falls in love with her, and they are married shortly thereafter. They share a house overlooking the Hudson with Steve, Ken's friend and fellow searchlight operator, who makes repeated attempts to seduce Georgie. Ken leaves Georgie alone with Steve one night, and he attacks her. On his way up the Hudson, Ken shines the searchlight on his own house and sees Georgie struggling with Steve. He swims to shore and, scaling the Palisades, reaches his home in time to protect Georgie by pressing a hot iron to Steve's face. Steve goes from their life forever, and Georgie and Ken are content with each another.
