Synopsis
"Little Eva" Nelson is abandoned atop a ladder by two fellow burglars when they hear Billy Fisk approach. Billy rescues her from a window ledge, believes her story about incriminating letters she is trying to recover, and enters the apartment to look for the letters. He is caught by another girl, who summons the police, and he learns that the "letters" are valuable bonds. To save this girl's reputation, when the policeman arrives, Billy accounts for his presence at that late hour by claiming that he and she are secretly married. The arrival of the girl's aunt and uncle further complicates matters. Billy finally escapes from the apartment as the burglars are making another attempt to seize the bonds, and he spots them making a getaway. A wild chase to the waterfront and an exciting fight occur before the culprits are brought to justice and Billy wins the girl. (The actors playing Dapper Dan Clark, The Girl, The Uncle, The Aunt, a butler, and various crooks and policemen have not been identified.)
