Synopsis

Tom Markham, foreman of an Arizona dude ranch, arrives in a metropolis to confer with George Brooks, owner of the ranch, and to accompany Brooks's daughter, Ellen, on the return trip; the night before the departure, conversation centers on the Regent diamond, which Brooks has set in a ring for Ellen. Her friend Rodney Stevens (actually leader of a gang of thieving thugs) later has his men steal the gem. After a series of encounters, Tom regains the jewel and returns it to Ellen. Later, near the ranch, Tom, disguised as a bandit, holds up the coach, and Ellen refuses to leave the vehicle; Tom pursues the runaway coach and rescues her. In making a search for the diamond, Stevens stumbles on Tom's bandit costume and informs Ellen of his masquerade, proposing that she wear the diamond so that Tom can be induced to abduct her. The plan is carried out, but Tom pursues the gang's car, disposes of the gang, and is reunited with Ellen.
