Synopsis

Noel Clavering, the business manager of the Everett Company, is unjustly accused of betraying the organization and is forced to resign his position. Although he suspects the real criminal, Noel goes West and becomes a lonely telegraph operator, dreaming of the day that he can return to his fiancée, Muriel Gwynne. One day, Allan Barrett, his rival for Muriel's hand, arrives at his lonely desert station and Noel wrings a confession of guilt from him but does not use it when he is told that his rival has already married Muriel. Returning East to avenge his honor, Noel learns that Barrett has tired of Muriel and is seeing Valerie Greenaway, a New York beauty visiting the town. To save Muriel from unhappiness, Noel decides to take Valerie away from Barrett and after spending much time with the girl realizes that he has fallen in love with her. Both couples then find happiness when Noel marries Valerie and Barrett returns to Muriel.
