Synopsis

En route to Alaska in search of gold, Kansas farmers Wade and Ruth Harkin are stranded in Seattle. Wade deserts Ruth, but she finds a protector in gambler Lucky Vail. When Lucky hires Dugan to feign an attack on Ruth, she shoots the degenerate, escapes to Alaska in fear of prosecution, and poses as Lucky's "lady friend," notorious dancehall character Chicago Belle, when the latter drowns. First Lucky, then Harkin, come seeking Belle and recognize Ruth. Realizing that he loves Ruth, Lucky fights Harkin, who is about to deliver the victorious blow when he is shot by an onlooker.
