Synopsis

When ranch owner Coyote Crosby is killed in a dispute with "Horned Toad" Smith over land, his will stipulates that his nephew Theodore will inherit the ranch if he takes possession immediately and marries his distant cousin, Dorothy Stuart, after six months. Theodore, a New Yorker unfamiliar with the ways of the West, boards a train for Arizona, pursued by Dolores, a Mexican who also has a claim to the land. Dorothy, her mother and Sir Mortimer Beggs, a fortune hunting suitor, also follow. After Theodore saves Horned Toad's life, the men become friends without realizing each other's identities. Later, Dorothy is abducted by Horned Toad and when Theodore rides to her rescue, he is also taken captive. Dorothy escapes and returns to the ranch where she rounds up a posse to rescue Theodore. By the time they reach him, he has won Horned Toad's clothing and ranch in a poker game. Dorothy and Theodore are then wed as are Dolores and Horned Toad, who becomes Theodore's ranch foreman.
