Synopsis

Riff Swanson has his pocket picked by light-fingered Shorty McGee and chases him into the Bartlett-Cooper mansion, where Betty Bartlett-Cooper is recruiting soldiers for the war in France. Betty persuades each of them in turn that she loves only him, and they both enlist. They are sent to France and become buddies, distinguishing themselves not at all and spending their time either in the guardhouse or on lunatic patrols in no man's land. After the war they return to the United States in time to see their mutual sweetheart married to Percy Brown, the son of the hardtack king
