Synopsis

Mitzi Lavelle, in love with carefree Pat Kelly, a member of the A. E. F. in France, follows him to America as a stewardess on a liner. Arriving in New York, Mitzi is met by Buck Johnson, once a rival for her hand, now a customs official. He promises to extend her leave if she will spend it with him. Mitzi rejects him, finds Kelly directing traffic at 42nd Street and Broadway (where he is stationed as a traffic policeman), and proceeds to settle down with him. Johnson attempts to have Mitzi deported while Kelly is held in jail for assaulting the customs official. Assisted by an Irish sergeant, Kelly claims Mitzi before the ship departs and marries her, thus forever thwarting Johnson's intentions to eject her.
