Synopsis

Billy Dow, a young lawyer, refuses to marry a woman with more money than himself, so when his girl Enid Barwell inherits a million dollars from an aunt whom she has never seen, Billy breaks off their attachment. Enid tries to get rid of the money by handing it over to George Frayne, a notoriously unsuccessful investor, when her aunt suddenly turns up. Meanwhile, Billy assists a minister friend falsely accused of stealing church funds by taking his place in jail. The real crook is discovered, clearing Billy, and identifies Enid's aunt as an impostor. Enid, exasperated, gives the million to Frayne, who loses it all, allowing Billy and Enid to marry.
