Synopsis

The film focuses on America's contemporary youth revolution. Plotless in format, the major portion of the film is devoted to rock and folk music performers. Also included are scenes of Father Malcolm Boyd, the Episcopal priest and author, consorting on a beach with a band of hippies; a visit to an institution for wayward boys and girls; teenagers rioting and police brutality; Super Spade, the underground hero murdered by mobsters in San Francisco in 1967 for giving away free marijuana and LSD; anti-Vietnam War demonstrations; advertisements for plastic Nazi helmets; Barry McGuire, the "prophet of doom," dancing in the sun; and shots of hippies sun-worshiping, eating flowers, riding motorcycles, climbing trees, surfing, and indulging in body-painting and love-ins.
