Synopsis

Martin Cane, who owns a fleet of fishing boats, loves Maida Rhodes, but despite Martin's insistence that nothing can keep her from him, Maida prefers Jo Sprague, the lighthouse keeper's son. Martin has his mind taken off Maida when his fleet is ruined and he is forced to begin again. Meanwhile, Jo has joined a band of smugglers and drugs his father to keep the lighthouse from functioning, thus allowing the smugglers to attempt a raid in darkness. It also causes Maida, who had been sailing, to crash. In the end, Martin captures the smugglers and rescues Maida, who realizes that she really does love him.
