Synopsis
Marie, a cafe waitress, accidentally kills Hans, her former lover, during a quarrel. The following day she approaches a stranger named Günther and offers him money to help her dispose of the body. They go to her apartment and make love while waiting for nightfall so that they can remove the corpse without being seen. Günther and a friend, Fritz, carry the body to the car, and the three drive to the countryside where they bury Hans near a road construction site. Returning to Munich, Fritz and Marie drive recklessly and collide with another car. To appease the family in the other car, they give them part of the cash that Marie paid the two men. Fritz and Günther begin to fight over Marie's attentions, and in the confusion, the rest of the money blows away. The next day at the cafe, Marie considers joining a customer for a holiday in Greece, while at the construction site a steam shovel unearths the body of Hans.
