Synopsis
Mistreated by his stepfather and the villagers and wrongly accused of setting fire to the schoolhouse, 12-year-old Dick Alden runs away vowing to revenge himself on his accusers. Years later he returns, determined to close the mill he has inherited; but the love of his childhood sweetheart, Mary, alters his decision, and he resolves to build a new life.
