Synopsis

Bess Lynne and her invalid brother, Harold, own a ranch and seek the services of a competent foreman. Duke Smith, foreman of the "Bar Nothin'" ranch, rides into town with his men and after a shooting spree applies for the job and is accepted. Harliss and Stinson, crooked cattle buyers, try to force the Lynnes to sell out; Duke hears of their schemings and forces them to buy the Lynnes' cattle. Later, Stinson robs Duke and leaves him in the desert to die, but Duke catches a stray horse and returns to the ranch. When Harold becomes ill, the Lynnes, believing that Duke has deserted them, return to the East. But Duke arrives in time to prevent Bess's marriage to Stinson and win her himself.
