Synopsis
Tom Devon, known to his society friends as Reginald Briand, is the mastermind behind an organization of gentlemen crooks, including Jimmy Stevens and Rudolph Gambier. His pretty daughter, Gloria, unaware of her father's underworld associations, meets Jimmy when he saves her from an embarrassing scene in a restaurant, and they fall in love. Devon, discovering Jimmy's attentions to his daughter and noting his resolve to reform, pays off Gambier and tries to persuade Jimmy to stop seeing Gloria; Gambier returns, thinking himself cheated, and kills Devon. Although Jimmy is arrested and convicted of the murder, Gloria is convinced of his innocence. When Gambier returns for the remainder of the spoils, Gloria intervenes, herself pretending to be a thief; and after winning his affections, she tricks him into confessing the crime. Gambier is mortally wounded by the police, and Jimmy is pardoned by the governor.
