Synopsis

When Bab Archibald returns home from school for vacation, her indulgent father deposits one thousand dollars in her bank account with the understanding that this is her entire allowance for the next year. Embarking vigorously upon her career as a spendthrift, Bab buys a car which she promptly smashes through a fence and backs into a milkwagon. Arrested for speeding, Bab is forced to settle her fines, leaving her with a total of sixteen cents. Taking a job as a cab driver to recoup her finances, Bab discovers a floor plan of the Archibald house that one of her customers leaves in her cab. Assuming that the man is a burglar, Bab waits outside the house and sees him enter through a window. Locking all the doors and windows, Bab summons the family by firing a revolver, only to discover that the alleged burglar is really her sister's suitor Harry who has come to elope with Leila.
