Synopsis

Anne Cabell, a popular hostess at the Cafe Justine and the dancing partner of Bernard Stockmar, a ladies' man, learns that her friend Vera fears love letters she wrote to Stockmar will be used to blackmail her; and Anne tries to recover them. Stockmar catches her searching his apartment and is shot by an unknown assailant; a strange neighbor helps her escape from the scene of the murder. Anne is traced by the police, and her fiancé, Dick Farnham, believes her guilty of the crime. Her benefactor, Lord Cumberly of the Foreign Office, provides an alibi for her and proves that the dancer and his murderer were spies for an unfriendly government. The murderer's confession frees Anne, who is happily reunited with Dick.
