Synopsis

"Smiling Bill" Flannigan swears off prizefighting and heads west when his opponent dies after being knocked out. Obtaining a job as a cook on a ranch, he has several run-ins with "Texas," a rough character, which lead to their dismissal. Texas gets a job at John Corliss' ranch, quickly incurring his animosity by showing Tommy, John's younger brother, how to drive cattle over sheepgrazing lands owned by "Black" Loring, whose daughter John loves from afar. Bill arrives at the sheepman's ranch just as Tommy and Texas attack. A fire results, and Bill saves the sheepman's daughter and Corliss' cousin--leading to a double romance.
