Synopsis

A gang of marauders is terrorizing ranchers and driving them off their land. When the Craigs are shot at on their own land, Charley Craig vows to take things into his own hands. His mother, however, secretly sends for Range Buster Crash Corrigan, whom she helped rear. Before Crash arrives, Jack Hammond, the leader of the gang, who buys land after driving out the owners, has his thugs, Blair and Weber, frame Charley for the murder of cattle buyer Tex Landers. Crash arrives with his friends, Denny Moore and Alibi Terhune, and after Mother Craig fills them in on the unsettling situation, Alibi investigates undercover at Hammond's base of operations at the Wayside Inn. Alibi overhears the bartender inciting the crowd against Charley, and makes friends with the help of his ventriloquist dummy, "Elmer." Charley finds the Hammond gang hideout and tries to take Blair hostage, but Blair overwhelms him. Charley escapes on his buckboard, but the gang follows and shoots him, and his wagon crashes over the cliff. Charley is left for dead, but is found alive by Crash, Denny and Alibi the next day. Angry that Charley is still alive, Hammond formulates a new plan to drive the Craig family off their property. Crash and Denny spy on the gang hideout and overhear their plans to burn down the Craig home, and then rustle their cattle early the next morning. While Alibi keeps Mother Craig and Charley's daughter Laura safe in the barn, the marauders ignite the house, which burns down. Crash, Denny, Charley and Marshal Claiborn and his men surprise the rustlers, and a gun battle ensues. Seeing that they are outmatched, Hammond and his men attempt to flee, but Denny and Blair personally capture Hammond and Blair, and the marshal captures the rest of the gang. Alibi later presents the sheriff with a signed confession from one of Hammond's men, which clears Charley. The Craig family then invites Crash, Denny and Alibi to return after their new house is built.
