Synopsis

Although from opposing European countries, Countess Olga and Prince Carl love each other. Appealing to her patriotism, however, Olga's brother, Count Michael, convinces her to lure Carl to their homeland so that he can be imprisoned. Carl falls for the trap and is sentenced to be shot, but Olga finally chooses love over politics and rescues the prince, who rejoins his Hussars. Olga's father banishes her to a convent for betraying her country, but just as she is about to enter, Carl saves her, and the two ride off together into the sunset.
